I started feeling pretty crumby shortly before I walked into my last final yesterday. You know, the genreal spring cold crap. But by the time I pulled into my driveway and parked my car at home I was spinning and completely congested. Not cool at all. Dinner didn't sound like much fun, so I put together for the fam a really quick and probably not very filling meal, tuna fish sandwiches and chicken noodle soup, and went off to bed. What a way to celebrate the end of the semester. I think that even though I was buried into my warm and inviting bed trying not to spin, that my family was glad I wasn't buried in some book somewhere.
So, what am I doing today? Aside from blowing my nose, hacking up the crap from the back of my throat, I've got a list. I've neglected my home and kids for a while and I need to get a few extra things done before the May 1st deadline loams any closer.
As of now, I have a fairly short list, but as my deadline edges closer I'm sure I'll be adding more to it. Here it is so far:
1. Go through kids' dressers (Every three months or so I go through the dressers to pick out the
clothes they have outgrown so that I don't have to continue to wash them.)
2. Grout the kitchen backsplash (I've been needing to finish up this project since last fall. I'm a
complete slaker.)
3. Laundry, laundry, laundry. ( I don't think this is ever going to be done.)
4. Spring clean every room (nuff said)
5. Notarize legal papers needed for family (you know, like temporary guardianship papers, etc. )
6. Clean my room, vaccum and rearrange furniture
7. Wash all bedding in the house. (Its just gotta be done)
8. Clean stove, microwave and refridgerator
9. Sweep and mop floors throughout the house
10. Arrange living room into Spring/Summer configuration
11. Contact and reserve the car babysitter for May
12. Write up and organize meals and recipes for the month of May.
13. Contact kids' activity leaders to inform of dates I will be gone.
14. Clean out and detail my car.
This list does not include the course work I'll be doing for the tour before I leave as well. I know I'm going to be doing a lot of praying for the endurance to finish it all.
Let's see, today I'm going to cross #1 off the list. Here goes....
