8 Days

For those feeling a bit harried lately as we have, I thought today's picutre was highly appropriate.  By the way, Happy Easter to all.  I hope it is a good one for everyone.  We are hoping to have a quiet and uneventful celebration.

Anyway, today's slot on the top ten list is number eight and for this day I'm choosing "fun in the sun" for its level of essentialness (I'm pretty sure that last isn't a word, but it is now) in keeping ones sanity.

After our family easter egg hunt we decided to take what is normally a two and a half hour trip and turn it into a five hour trip.  We stop at some really great scenic stops, let the kids get out, run around, and throw rocks into various water surfaces, took pictures, stopped for lunch at a small town wayside diner and tried to enjoy each others company.  It was desperately needed and, I think, a bit cathartic.

So, when in need of a break, enjoy the great outdoors with friends or family, neither one matters, but while doing so take a deep breath and let everything else in your life just fade to the background. This is one of the things that makes life worthwhile.

Below are a few of the pictures I took of the family on our way home.
